Introduced in 1997, the British Silver Britannia has featured the same monarch on its obverse for over two decades. Following the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the Royal Mint issued 2023 Britannias with both Her Late Majesty and, later in the year, King Charles III on the obverse. The 2024 series marks the first time that coins in this series will exclusively feature King Charles III on the obverse. The British Silver Britannia has a distinguished history among major bullion series, with the silver version debuting ten years after the gold coins in 1997. From 1997 to 2010, the Royal Mint alternated designs of Britannia on the reverse, while three different portraits of Queen Elizabeth II graced the obverse during those years.

The latest 2024 1 oz Silver Britannia Coins feature King Charles III on the obverse, who made his debut mid-2023 production cycle, as crafted by Martin Jennings in late 2022. This new bust portrays Charles III in left-profile relief without a crown.

On the reverse, the coins continue to showcase Philip Nathan’s depiction of Britannia. This iconic figure is presented in a front-facing relief, looking to her right, adorned with a Corinthian helmet, wielding a trident in her right hand, and holding the Union Jack shield in her left.

These 2024 1 oz British Silver Britannia Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. They are available individually in plastic flips, in plastic tubes for multiples of 25, or in Monster Boxes for multiples of 500 coins, with each box containing 20 tubes of 25 coins each.
